Bookkeeping
Strategy-ready books.
We help clean up the numbers, establish better systems, and make sure the strategies are properly recorded.

Why strategy-ready books matter.
A tax strategy is only as strong as the records behind it. Deductions need documentation, owner compensation needs to run through payroll correctly, and depreciation depends on accurate asset records. When the books are behind or inconsistent, opportunities are missed and the strategy is harder to support.
What we help with.
- QuickBooks cleanup and catch-up for months or years that have fallen behind
- Bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
- A chart of accounts set up to match how your business and your tax return actually work
- Monthly or quarterly financial reports you can read and use
- Recording strategy items correctly, such as owner payroll, reimbursements, and asset purchases
- Equine-specific tracking for boarding, training, breeding, and show income and expenses

FAQ
Questions clients ask
My books are a year or more behind. Can you catch them up?
Yes. Catch-up and cleanup work is a big part of what we do, whether you’re months or years behind. We reconcile your bank, credit card and loan accounts, fix miscategorized transactions and set up a chart of accounts that matches your tax return. Our bookkeeping is led by Kaija Mattson, a Certified QuickBooks Bookkeeper, working alongside Jen Johnson, EA.
Do you work in QuickBooks Online, Desktop, or both?
We work primarily in QuickBooks Online and also have a spreadsheet system that we can help our clients customize for their business if they are not quite ready. If you’re on QuickBooks Desktop, we can help you move to QuickBooks Online or work remotely in your system.
Do you offer monthly bookkeeping, or cleanup only?
Both. After a cleanup, we can keep your books current and send you monthly or quarterly financial reports, so your books stay tax-ready all year.
How does bookkeeping connect to my tax strategy?
Tax strategy only works if the books record it correctly. We record owner payroll, reimbursements and asset purchases the way your tax plan needs them. Clean books also let us project your taxes during the year and time big decisions before deadlines. Accurate records are your best defense if the IRS ever asks questions.
